Invisalign®
What is Invisalign®?
They are removable, clear dental aligners or braces that are better known as Invisalign the most widespread brand of aligners. These braces are worn no less than 22 hours a day, meaning they are only removed for eating and daily oral hygiene.
These transparent aligners are custom-made for each individual, using Digital Planning software that allows you to plan and visualise the final results very closely. When placed on the teeth, these aligners begin to exert pressure, which over time will bring the teeth into the desired position. You will be provided with a number of aligners that you will need to change weekly or fortnightly.
As you move through the aligners, forces are applied to the teeth to push them into the new desired position.
Does Invisalign® work?
Yes, very similar treatment results are achieved to those achieved with fixed braces. They can be optimised with the use of accessories such as orthodontic mini-implants, intra and inter-maxillary elastics, dental buttons and others to achieve the desired results. Your collaboration is essential in order to achieve the best possible result in the shortest possible treatment time.
What is the reason for the higher price?
The diagnosis and planning process of Invisalign orthodontic treatment is different to that of fixed appliances. There is digital treatment planning and the manufacture of the aligners is dependent on laboratories outside the orthodontist’s practice, which makes the treatment more expensive.
What are the advantages of an Invisalign® treatment compared to other orthodontic appliances?
The main advantages of aligners are the aesthetic appearance during treatment, the greater ease of more efficient oral hygiene and the control of tooth movements, since they are planned digitally. Besides, this orthodontic system is very comfortable and easy to use and the aligners are very resistant because, thanks to the technological composition of the material, they are generally not subject to breakage or fracture. They adhere to the teeth with maximum comfort and safety.
