PID (Immediate Direct Payment) is an innovative solution that makes it easier to access dental treatments in Luxembourg. This system allows the reimbursed amount to be paid directly to healthcare professionals, eliminating the need for upfront payments by the individual.
PID – But how does it work? And who is eligible? In this article, Bouche Dental Group explains everything you need to know.
PID (Paiement Immédiat Direct) is a system introduced by the CNS and other national reimbursement schemes such as CMFEP or CMFEC. It enables the immediate payment of the reimbursable portion of a dental treatment.
In other words, there is no need to pay the full amount in advance: the reimbursed part is transferred directly to the healthcare professional, and the individual only pays the remaining balance, if applicable.
PID is available to:
Individuals registered with the CNS or other recognized social security systems (such as CMFEP or CMFEC)
Residents in Luxembourg who undergo eligible dental treatments
Find your dentist via the Bouche Dental Group online booking platform
Provide your CNS card number when booking
After your appointment, the dental network submits the invoice in real time
CNS or another system validates the reimbursed portion, and you only pay the remaining amount (if any)
This process is quick, simple, and hassle-free.

PID only applies to treatments reimbursed by CNS or other schemes. Some treatments are excluded, such as:
Purely aesthetic procedures
Treatments requiring prior authorization
Services not covered by reimbursement systems
The Bouche Dental Group network will inform you if a treatment is eligible for PID. You can also check the CNS website or other reimbursement systems for more information.
